The truth

August 10, 2010

Is your truth
better or
more correct than
my truth?

Is your truth
wiser
and more real
than
my truth?

Isn’t your truth
the same
as my truth
in not being
universal?

Isn’t your truth
an amalgamation
of experiences
in life
through your
perspective?

Isn’t my truththe same
in that it is
different
from
your truth?

If we could
exchange shoes
and see things
from each other’s
perspective
taking into
account
our individual
past experiences
the world
and its truths
would appear
all anew
all alike
all different
all strangely
original
and personal.

Your truth
is not bigger
better
wiser
or more true
than my truth.

Your truth is
just
different
from
my truth.

I guess human beings have it tough to accept someone else’s truth, or at least to accept a possibility of existence of someone else’s truth. Life would be more simpler if we were more open to each other’s thoughts and perspectives.

      If only…

    If only . . .

I can preach all these things well, but when it comes to myself, I flounder. I always think “It shall pass” and I will learn.

A wake-up call again. Thanks Mansi.

Hope you are doing well :)

    Joy always,
    Susan

I just echoed your thoughts in response to Lena’s comment. I write all this as a reminder to myself — glad it’s serving as a reminder for you, too. It’s easy to forget and live in our own shells. Sometimes taking a step back helps.
