The magic touch

September 13, 2010

Your fingers

pressing into my

skin

soft but relentless

goading

exploring

touching

feeling

tirelessly

working

on those muscles

that have

tied themselves up

tightly

into knots

from

hours and hours of

sitting on

the computer

typing

straining

my neck arched

my shoulders tense

not knowing

relaxation

for days on end

and then your

fingers

sinking

deep into my

muscles

willing the aches

away

allowing me

to breathe deeply

losing myself

in an oasis

of nothingness

for an hour

your fingers

subtly

bringing

home the message

that me time

is important

your fingers

doing all

the listening

and the talking

stroking

sweeping

pulsing

your fingers

magically

melting

the stress away

leaving

me

renewed

and rejuvenated

your fingers

the powerful

antidote

to my hectic

lifestyle

your fingers

the instant remedy

for my

pain.

It is so pleasant to receive a deep massage and release the tensions that have wrapped themselves around those stiff and hurting muscles. Glad you were able to get one.

Now I definitely want one too. Great poem.

Thanks, Myrna. I hope you’ve scheduled that massage of yours ;-)
