I want to be a giant sequoia tree
Standing tall
And gracefully
In my old age
Unfazed by fires
And competition
Riding high on
My success –
A result of
Hard work
And hardiness.
—-
I want to be a giant sequoia tree
One in a million
Sturdy, long-lasting
Growing stronger
With every
Passing year
Reaching for
New heights
Broadening my
Horizon.
—-
I want to be a giant sequoia tree
Evergreen
Delightful
Dependable
Nurturing
Independent
Yet part of
A community.
—-
I want to be a giant sequoia tree
With stories to
Share
And tales to
Tell
Of new beginnings
And old friends.

When I grow old
I want to be
Just like
A giant sequoia tree.

Beautiful Sweetie….the sequoia’s are amazing I was lucky when I lived out there to spend some time in the John Muir woods & I was blown away by their size, strength & beauty.
Hugs,
Bill
They truly are, Bill. So glad we live in this part of the country and are able to admire their beauty.
I love this tree right from my school-days where I first read about it. The qualities you have attributed to this tree are wonderful almost making the tree like one of us. A tree always inspires and sustains me.
Thanks Mansi for this lovely post.
Joy always,
Susan
Thanks, Susan. Every time I see the giant sequoias I shake my head in wonderment. Thought it was about time I expressed those feelings
to be rooted deep while reaching for the skies..love your love for sequoia-love your words!
Thanks, Varsha

Majestic indeed

these trees you talk of
The giant sequoia tree
And in them
I see
A future
For me
