Congratulations to Joshi Daniel for being selected the Photoblogger of the Month.
Based in Mumbai, he is a freelance photographer whose strength lies in making the ordinary images of daily life become powerful stories in and of themselves. Silent images that talk to you, take you to a different world, invite you in, and stay with you.
Daniel says that “the art of creating images is almost like a meditation for me.” He also enjoys trance music, coffee, traveling, animals, bikes, beer and martial arts.
An accomplished photographer, Daniel’s image “Traditional Pottery Making” was in the top 10 in the “Altered Images” category of the Smithsonian magazine’s 7th annual photo contest from more than 60,000 entries they received from all over the world.
His entry, “Monsoon Wait” was among the top 20 finalists for the Nikon-Better Photography Photographer of the Year 2009 Awards from more than 40,000 plus entries.
I was introduced to Daniel’s work through Indiblogger and below are some of my favorites from his blog.
From the little girl’s twinkling eyes to the young boy’s Holi face; from the Tiffinwaala’s intent expression to the professional ear cleaner’s diligence, Daniel has the ability to put you right there in the moment.
I hope you will enjoy his photographs and pay him a visit.
